All gifts, large and small, make a difference in sustaining the education and community at Friends School of Portland. There are many different ways to make a gift. All gifts are tax- deductible. Friends School of Portland is a Maine nonprofit organization, and has received Internal Revenue Service recognition as an organization qualifying under sections 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(A)(ii) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our EIN: 20-3299655

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer matching gift programs to their employees as part of their benefits package. Please contact your Human Resources Office to learn more about your company’s matching gift policy.
Stock Gifts
A gift of stock or appreciated securities can offer greater tax savings than a cash gift. A DTC transfer of stock is easiest. Friends School of Portland maintains an account with Charles Schwab. If your security is held in a brokerage account, your stockbroker will be able to transfer stock electronically from your account to the school’s account.
DTC routing number: 0164 Code 40 (Charles Schwab)
Account number: 25677107
Donor identity is not shared when a transfer is made. Please notify Brooke Burkett, Development Director, by email or phone, brooke@friendsschoolportland.org or 207-558-6214, of your stock transfer.
Capital Campaign Giving
The Completing the Vision campaign completes the growth of our school with four middle school classrooms. You can make a gift by check, online, appreciated stock or sharing your intention to make several payments with a pledge form. Please reach out and speak with Brooke Burkett, Development Director, brooke@friendsschoolportland.org or 207-558-6214 if you are interested in learning more about the capital campaign and how to make a pledge payment.
Planned Giving
A planned gift can provide significant opportunities for future students. If you are interested in including Friends School of Portland in your estate plans and the Barbie Potter Legacy Circle, please contact Brooke Burkett, Development Director, brooke@friendsschoolportland.org or 207-558-6214.
Endowment
In 2019 we created a small, board-designated endowment to ensure that FSP is positioned strongly for the long term. Our hope is that an endowment will allow us to continue to provide financial aid for students, ensuring that a Friends education is available for all. The resulting diverse community will enrich our shared experience and prepare our students for lives of purpose in a diverse world. It will also generate funds for professional development for the school's dedicated faculty.
Friends School of Portland’s endowment funds are invested with Friends Fiduciary’s fossil fuel-free Quaker Growth and Income Fund. Friends Fiduciary is a Quaker investment group that embraces the widely held desire that investments should be made in businesses that serve a beneficial purpose to society.
If you are interested in considering a gift to the Friends School of Portland’s endowment, please contact Brooke Burkett, Development Director, at brooke@friendsschoolportland.org or 207-558-6214.
Volunteer
Parent and community volunteers support Friends School of Portland in many ways: lending a hand weeding our garden, finding just the right field trip, assisting in making a video. We will welcome few outside community members into our school building this year but still welcome your help and support. If you are interested in volunteering your time please be in touch with Brooke Burkett, Development Director, brooke@friendsschoolportland.org or 207-558-6214.
